CSAP testing is over! I'd like to know your thoughts about the 3 tests/day format. Did you prefer that schedule to the 2 tests/day format?
The Big Read project will begin April 7. Students grades 7-12 will read Ray Bradbury's classic, Fahrenheit 451, a novel of a future in which the citizens do not read and are not encouraged to think. The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment of the Arts. In an NEA report from 2004, it was learned that "not only is literary reading in America declining rapidly among all groups, but that the rate of decline has accelerated, especially among the young." Junior High Knowledge Bowl begins February 21. See the District site for the full schedule.
High School and Junior High track is underway. The first meets take place on April 11 and 12.
